Three days after Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024, a major rejig has taken place in Punjab Police. Punjab's Department of Home Affairs on Friday transferred 9 IPS officers including three Police Commissioners of Punjab. IPS Swapan Sharma has been transferred to Jalandhar as Commissioner of Police in place of IPS Officer Rahul S, while Kuldeep Chahal has been transferred to Commissioner of Police in Ludhiana in place of IPS Officer Nilabh Kishore. Notably, Gurpreet Bhullar who was serving as the Police Commissioner of Amritsar has also been transferred. In place of IPS Bhullar, IPS Ranjit Singh will now serve as Commissioner of Amritsar.
