Punjab Police launches Saanjh program for community partnership

Punjab Police has launched the Saanjh Community Partnership Program, inviting volunteers from all backgrounds to assist in various activities, including resolution of disputes and community awareness programs.

In a bid to improve community policing and foster better relations between the police department and the general public, the Punjab police have launched a new initiative called the "Saanjh Community Partnership Program." The program invites volunteers from all walks of life to join the "Saanjh Team" and become "Saanjh Associates."

According to the Punjab police, the Saanjh Associates will assist the department in various activities such as the resolution of family disputes, conducting community-based awareness programs in the fields of gender equality, cybercrime, and drug de-addiction. The initiative aims to bring the community closer to the police department and encourage citizens to play an active role in maintaining law and order.

The Director-General of Community Policing and Women Affairs, Gurpreet Deo, has lauded the initiative, stating that it would help in creating a positive relationship between the police department and the community.

Interested individuals can easily become volunteers by filling out an application form available on the Punjab police's website. The application process started on May 4 and will end on May 15. After going through an interview, candidates can become a part of the Saanjh team. The department has stated that preferences would be given to retired professional government officers, but anyone with a graduate degree can apply for the program.
