Punjab
Police is due to get 3 new DGP’s by the end of this month. Three DGP ranked
officers have already either attained or are due to attain superannuation by the
end of this month that is March 2022. M.K.Tiwari former chairman of PPHC retired
on 28th February and S. Chattopadhyay DGP PSPCL and Rohit Choudhary Special
DGP Human Rights are due to retire by 31st March 2022.
In their
place, Three officers of 1992 batch Dr Sharad Satya Chauhan ADGP Security,
Harpreet Singh Siddhu ADGP STF and Gaurav Yadav ADGP Modernization are expected
to be promoted as DGP
It is
further expected that Mr Pawan Rai 1997 batch IPS officer currently under
deputation with Centre, Naunihal Singh, another 1997 batch IPS officer
currently serving as CP Jalandhar and Arun Pal Singh another 1997 batch IPA
officer currently working as IG Crime and Litigation will be promoted as ADGP.
This is the
reason perhaps why the new Government has not done any mass-scale transfers in
Punjab Police.
