‘Zero Tolerance Against Corruption’ in Full Swing

DGP Gaurav Yadav reiterated the Punjab Police’s ‘Zero Tolerance Against Corruption’ approach, stating, “Black sheep in the Punjab Police will not be tolerated. Strict action as per law will be taken.” He emphasized that all police officials involved in corrupt practices or facing serious allegations are being thoroughly investigated, ensuring due legal procedures are followed.

New E-FIR Facility for Motor Vehicle Theft on the Way

DGP Yadav announced the Punjab Police’s plans to introduce an e-FIR facility for motor vehicle thefts. This new initiative will enable the public to file FIRs online or visit SAANJH Kendras, aiming to enhance citizen-friendly services and reduce the public’s direct interaction with police officials.

An e-Police Station is also being established at the state level, and the government will request the Hon’ble High Court to notify E-Courts in each district.

In collaboration with the Indian Police Foundation, the Punjab Police is also spearheading Internal Police Reforms, focusing on:

• Streamlining complaint and FIR registration
• Improving police response and conduct
• Reducing harassment incidents
• Enhancing citizen services
• Promoting community engagement

The reform project, initially launched in SAS Nagar and Rupnagar, is now expanding to Fatehgarh Sahib and Khanna districts. With these robust measures, the Punjab Government aims to build public trust and ensure a transparent and efficient policing system across the state.
