Rajya Sabha Member, Raghav Chadha is going to enter the Punjab government from the back door. The newly appointed Chief Secretary of state, Vijay Kumar Janjua has issued a notification regarding formation of an Advisory Committee on Public Issues. The Committee will have a Chairman and other members.
After the formation of AAP in Punjab, whenever the leaders from Delhi tried to interfere in administrative affairs of Punjab, senior officials had taken the decisions only after CM’s involvement. A senior official said that after the formation of committee, any official of Punjab government will have to hold a meeting with the Chairman or members of the committee.
With the formation of this committee, its chairman will be able to hold an official meeting with any senior government official. Rajya Sabha member, Raghav Chadha is said to be close to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. He has an indirect involvement in the important decisions of the Punjab government. He also played a major role in AAP’s victory in Punjab.
Raghav Chadha has been active in Chandigarh often. He will be able to be directly involved in the decisions of the government.
In the notification of the issued notice, it has been mentioned that the Chairman or other members of this committee will not get any salary or allowance. The terms and conditions of this notice include:
- There shall be a temporary and ad hoc Committee to advise the Government of State of Punjab on matters of public importance pertaining to Public administration.
- The Committee shall consist of a Chairman and such other members, if any, who may be required from time to time, as appointed by the Government.
- The Committee is set up on ad hoc and temporary basis and will serve during the pleasure of the Chief Minister of Punjab.
- The office of Chairman and Members, if any, will not be entitled to any compensation, remuneration, or perks of any kind or nomenclature in respect of such appointment. The Chairman and Members shall not even be entitled to payments that are compensatory in nature, including any reimbursements.
