Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reached the Radisson Hotel in Jalandhar for a meeting with major Jalandhar MLAs including the sitting MP Sushil Kumar Rinku in order to discuss the strategy for the upcoming general elections.
According to sources, the Chief Minister directed the the members to work for the party to ensure victory in all the constituencies at all costs.
The motive of the meeting was to discuss the party’s weakpoints and strengths. It is pertinent to note that despite AAP’s victory in the Jalandhar’s by-elections, the party suffered defeat in two of the major constituencies in the city to BJP i.e. in Jalandhar North and Jalandhar Central.
Jalandhar Lok Sabha contest is likely to be a 3-way fight between AAP, Congress and BJP, with AAP fighting tooth and nail to retain the seat at all costs. It is pertinent to note that that Sushil Rinku won the seat for AAP after leaving Congress.
