A streamlined and modernized system for passport verification has been initiated by Punjab Police, claiming that this step will ensure transparency and time-bound services. Under this, the customers will receive an SMS notification from ‘PB Sanjh,’ which will offer a pre-verification SMS notification and allow them to share post-verification feedback.
The details linked to the initiative were shared by the Special Director General of Police (DGP), Community Affairs Division - Gurpreet Kaur Deo. She highlighted that this initiative shows Punjab Police’s commitment to delivering the most efficient services to the public. Furthermore, she announced that under this service, the customers will receive an SMS with all the details linked to their passport verification, such as the name of the verification officer and the time and date of their appointment. Punjab Police started this initiative on February 5, 2025.
Deo was quoted saying, “This step is aimed at eliminating any uncertainty and ensuring that applicants are fully aware of their verification process.”
DGP Deo further explained that the people will also have an opportunity to share post-verification feedback about the process and verifying officers. Elaborating on the same, she outlined, “Applicants will receive a post-verification SMS from ‘PB Sanjh,’ containing a hyperlink to a feedback form. Through this form, applicants can submit their suggestions, comments, or concerns regarding the verification process.”
This move will help the authorities conduct a more citizen-friendly process, keeping it more transparent and accountable.
