Punjab Sadak Suraksha Force: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came into power in Punjab after winning the 2022 state assembly elections by a record margin. The team of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhawant Mann made a plethora of promises to the people of Punjab including improvement in education, and health infrastructure. While Bhagwant Mann has already received praise from Punjabis over free electricity, the Punjab CM has extended his work for the betterment of the people of Punjab, especially in terms of road safety as well as employment in the form of Sadak Suraksha Force.
For the unversed, the Punjab Sadak Suraksha Force introduced & implemented by the Mann government is showing excellent results. More than 1000 lives have reportedly been saved in a few months through the Sadak Suraksha Force. Along with this, more than 60 lakh children or teens injured in the accident were taken to their homes.
According to the information, the death rate in road accidents has reduced this year due to the Punjab Sadak Suraksha Force. Along with the formation of the Sadak Suraksha Force, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had appointed 5000 personnel to the Punjab Police, whose job was to prevent road accidents. The Road Safety Force is deployed to protect more than 5500 kilometers of National Highway, State Road, and Main District Road. About 150 ultra-modern vehicles have been deployed to prevent violation of traffic rules on the road.
Due to the Sadak Suraksha Force, the Punjab government has significantly reduced the loss caused by road accidents every year. This is saving the lives of many people every day. Apart from this, the economic loss of Rs 18,000 crore annually to the state is being reduced. Punjab is the first state in the country to form a road safety force aka Sadak Suraksha Force. Now if any kind of accident happens on the road within a radius of 30 km, the people of the state will immediately get information about it on the helpline number.
What's new in Sadak Suraksha Force?
The Sadak Surakhya Force has got a fleet of 144 ultra-modern vehicles in the first phase to monitor the roads efficiently. These vehicles include 116 Toyota Hilux and 28 Mahindra Scorpio which will be deployed after an interval of every 30 kilometres to monitor the roads. A team of four cops headed by officer not less than rank of ASI, as patrol incharge, will be there in the vehicle.
These vehicles have been equipped with ultra modern gadgets like speed guns, alchometer, e-challan machines and AI-enabled smart mechanisms to check the violation of traffic rules. They will also have a recovery van along with command and control centre-enabled real-time CCTV cameras. Likewise, there will be road crash investigations and mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and IT experts for handling technical assignments.
