In a sigh of relief for the state, Punjab on Monday
witnessed a dip in the fresh caseload of Covid-19.
A day after recording less than a thousand cases, Punjab had reported 629 cases on June 14. With the fresh caseload, the infection tally in the state rose to 5,88,525 with 33 more casualties taking the death toll to 15,602.
According to the state’s medical bulletin, the number of active cases dropped to 11, 913 from 12, 981 on Sunday.
The areas that reported deaths include Amritsar, Barnala, Fazilka, Bathinda, Jalandhar and Ludhiana.
On June 14, Jalandhar reported 98 fresh cases of infection followed by 55 in Amritsar and 52 in Ludhiana.

The medical bulletin further added that with this, the state’s positivity rate now stands at 1.45%.
The people who have defeated the coronavirus in Punjab has reached 5,61,010 including 1,650 fresh recoveries.
As of now, there are 188 critical patients who are on ventilator support, along with 586 other critical patients and 2,529 are on oxygen support.
The state has collected a total of 1,00,83,279 samples for testing so far in the state, it said.
