The national capital borders today are observing a fascinating crowd as agitating farmers are gearing up for a massive tractor parade on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day.
Thousands of tractors will enter Delhi from various protest points in Delhi-NCR.
Several students from the Punjabi University in Barnala, Punjab have reached border points in a show of solidarity with farmers and support them. This is noteworthy because PhD scholars and researchers from the university were found wearing t-shirts with photos of farmers printed on them.
The printed picture showed a farmer participating in the tractor rally parade.
Sunanda, who has been a part of protest since the beginning, said, "This is to highlight the farmers' pain and support them. We feel very safe here."
Another couple named Satveer and her husband, who have been supporting the agitation since its initiation last year said that people of Punjab are united and fighting for a cause, together.
"We are here to break the norm that women only work at home and can fight for their rights," Satveer said. Her in-laws have also joined the protest, she added.
A young farmer from Kurukshetra, Arvind Malik from Haryana, was seen holding a shovel as a tractor moved past him. "I have been coming to all border points to support my brothers and elderly. This is a proud moment for us as it will be the first farmer's parade," Arvind Malik.

The tractors will cover over 100 kilometres of distance in the national capital.
Farmer leaders have assured that the tractor parade will be peaceful and would maintain the dignity of the R-Day. The farmers will not enter central Delhi and the parade will begin only after the official Republic Day parade concludes.
