Amid the rising unseasonal heat, Punjab's Weather took a U-turn when the state witnessed rainfall in many regions including in Jalandhar. While IMD had predicted that Punjab will witness rainfall on February 19 and 20, Jalandhar on Thursday witnessed hailstorms around 3 pm to 4 pm in many areas. Many videos have surfaced showing the Jalandhar Hailstorm on Thursday. In fact, many are comparing the hailstorm to snowfall in Jalandhar. However, in reality, Jalandhar witnessed a hailstorm along with rain and not a snowfall. Since the weather change, a drop in temperature has also been felt in the state.
As per Apple Weather App, Jalandhar on Thursday (at 5: 16 pm) registered the lowest temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was 17 degrees Celsius. The App further predicted that the temperature in Jalandhar will dip more on February 21 i.e. on Friday. on February 21, Jalandhar may register the lowest temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.
It is pertinent to mention here that the latest rainfall and hailstorm in Punjab may be concerning for farmers. The crops may get damaged due to hailstorms and rain in Punja,b especially wheat and mustard crops. At this time, the wheat crop has already got grains, while mustard is also close to ripening.
