According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, Chal Mera Putt 2, which was re-released on Friday, August 27, generated an amazing Rs1.55 crore net on Sunday. The film, directed by Janjot Singh and starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal, grossed Rs3.71 crore in its first three days in theatres in its second run.
Chal Mera Putt 2 was first released in March 2020 for three days before being pulled due to the closure of theatres in Punjab and several other states due to growing COVID-19 cases. Then followed the prime minister's nationwide shutdown, with theatres only resuming in October of that year. However, Chal Mera Putt 2 did well in those three days, grossing Rs2.92 crore. As of August 29, the film's total gross was Rs6.63 crore.

The fact that it is still doing better than the initial release despite playing at 50% occupancy speaks a lot about two things. First and foremost, the film's quality is pretty high, and as a result, people are spreading positive word of mouth. Furthermore, the film has managed to persuade people to leave their homes, particularly in Punjab and other northern regions, indicating a positive indication of revival.
Chal Mera Putt 2 has already surpassed the 7.75 crore* level, and the current trend suggests that the 10 crore milestone will be reached by the end of the week. After then, it'll be all about piling up more.

On the other hand, the another Punjabi movie named ‘Puaada’, which debuted on August 12th, grossed a respectable Rs45 lakh nett in its third weekend. The film, which stars Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, grossed Rs3.89 crore and Rs1.85 crore in its first two weeks in theatres. The entire amount raised so far is Rs6.19 crore.
Despite the 50 percent occupancy limit, both Punjabi films have done well at the box office. According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, Puaada has generated a sizable profit in the international market, with a total of over Rs9 crore
Since Chal Mera Putt 2 is already a hit, a super hit tag is almost certain.
