Punjabi singer turned actor Ammy Virk has landed into controversy once again. This time, the Muslim community has raised objections against him, because he used the word “Rasool” in one of his songs.
A complaint has been lodged by the Naib Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani. Usman Rahmani has urged the police and government to file a case against him.
Naib Shahi Imam said that in Islam, the last Messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Waslam, has given the highest status to and whenever the word Rasool is used, it meant that there is a decree of Hazrat Muhammad.
He said the songs of the film Sufna, sung by Ammy Virk have hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community across the world. Naib Shahi Imam Maulana Usman said that in the absence of action, a meeting of Muslims from across Punjab would be called in Ludhiana and the next strategy would be announced.
A complaint has been given to the Police Commissioner, on behalf of the Naib Shahi Imam. He further warned that the writer of the song may also get arrested.
He further urged that the police should register a case against them under IPC section 295A and alerted the government and police officials that if the police do not take any action soon, then lakh of Muslims would gather for the Friday prayers and would conduct protest from Jama Masjid. He further said the government may also have to bear the brunt of this.
Recently, Punjabi actor has faced opposition from the protesting farmers. Later, it was clarified that all these films have been shot before the protest of the farmers.
