A 28-year-old Ph.D. student at Panjab University (PU) in Chandigarh committed suicide in her home by eating poison. This student was from Ludhiana and lived in Dhanas, Chandigarh, on a rental basis. In an unconscious state, the girl was carried to the hospital, where doctors proclaimed her dead. The deceased was taken to Chandigarh's Sarangpur police station for a post-mortem. The forensic team arrived at the girl's room to investigate.

Gurvinder Kaur was the student who committed suicide. Gurvinder Kaur, a native of Ludhiana, is pursuing her Ph.D. in Music at PU. She rented a room on the first floor of a house in Dhanas' Housing Board Colony. Gurwinder Kaur had barely been married for around 6 months. Her husband works as a denting and painting worker in Ludhiana. Every Saturday, Gurvinder Kaur used to visit her in-laws.

On Tuesday evening, Gurvinder Kaur ate poison. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, and she began vomiting. Gurvinder Kaur's landlord notified the police after her neighbours became suspicious. When the police arrived on the scene, they broke down the door and transported Gurvinder Kaur to the hospital. Police found no suicide note in her room.

The true cause of death, according to the police, will be discovered only after the post-mortem. Gurvinder Kaur committed suicide, and police is trying to figure out why. What kind of poison did she take? What store did she buy this poison from? No complaint has been received from Gurvinder Kaur's maternal side as of Wednesday afternoon. Her maternal side and in-laws have been contacted by the police.
