On Wednesday, 16th October, famous Indian actress Radhika Apte surprised her fans by revealing her pregnancy and was seen with a baby bump at BFI London Film Festival red carpet. She is expecting her first child. She shared her pictures clicked at BFI London Film Festival red carpet on her Instagram handle.
Her fans flooded her with congratulations. One of the users wrote, “Omg!!! She’s pregnant, how exciting.” “Ah! Congrats on the premiere and your pregnancy! You are magnificent on the red carpet,” another user commented.
Radhika has worked in various Bollywood films including Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Antaheen, Badlapur, Hunterrr, Manjhi - The Mountain Man Phobia, Lust Stories Sacred Games, Ghoul, Raat Akeli Hai, Monica, O My Darling and more.
Radhika Apte met Benedict Taylor in 2011 in London. They married got in 2012. Director Sarang Sathaye, who is a friend of Radhika, said that the two had been living together for a while and a registered marriage also took place just a month before the official ceremony was announced to be held in March 2013.
In an interview, Radhika revealed about her intimate wedding and said, “When I got married to Benedict 10 years ago, we forgot to click pictures. We had a DIY marriage. We called our friends, made food ourselves, had the wedding at a place in Northern England, and partied. But no pictures. Even though half of our friends were photographers, none of them either clicked any pictures. We were all so drunk. So I don't have any pictures of my wedding. Which is nice in a different way.”
Radhika Apte’s husband Benedict Taylor is a 42-year-old British avant-garde violist, violinist and composer. He works in contemporary composition, modern string performance and improvised music in the British and European new music world. He has also made special music for many Indian projects including Udta Punjab, Paatal Lok, Son Chiriya, Qarib Qarib Single and Nil Battey Sannata, among others.
He has won several awards including Royal Philharmonic Society – Sir John Barbirolli Award, Lynn Foundation Scholarship, Westmorland Music Society Grant, Grand Jury Award – New York SAIFF and more.
