ED raid former IAS officer's home in Chandigarh; Rs 1 cr cash along with diamond & gold seized

In a major development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided the house of a former IAS Officer in Chandigarh. ED's raid at Ex-IAS officer's house in Chandigarh reportedly took place in a project related to a luxury flat manufacturing company. To be precise, raids were conducted at the house of Mohinder Singh, a retired officer and former CEO of Noida Authority in Chandigarh. Reports further suggest that cash worth Rs 1 crore, diamonds worth Rs 12 crore, gold jewellery worth Rs 7 crore, and many suspicious documents were recovered from his house during the ED raid. 

ED had conducted raids at 11 places including Chandigarh in the last two days. This raid was conducted in Delhi, Meerut and Noida. During this, an attempt was made to investigate the property of every person involved in the project. Reports further suggest that ED is investigating a potential scam of about 300 crores. In this case, ED had already registered a case of money laundering and started an investigation.

Former IAS officer Mohinder Singh was considered one of the special officers of the BSP government. During this, ED had raided the places of Meerut residents Aditya Gupta and Ashish Gupta. Diamonds worth crores of rupees have been recovered from his place.

The name of the former IAS officer had earlier also come up in the memorial scam in UP. A notice was also sent to him by the Vigilance. However, he was abroad at that time.
