Railway passengers travelling on Delhi-Ludhiana route on New Year may have to face inconvenience for 8 days due to work being done by the department at Ladhowal station near Ludhiana. About 103 trains are going to be affected on this route from 2 to 9 January.
According to the information released by the department, during this period, a total of 5 trains will be cancelled, 3 will be short terminated, 4 will be short originated, routes of 5 trains will be changed and 37 trains will be run late from their scheduled time.
Cancelled trains:
54 trains running between Pathankot-Old Delhi-Pathankot, New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi, Jaynagar-Amritsar-Jaynagar, Jalandhar City-New Delhi-Jalandhar City, Amritsar-Haridwar-Amritsar, Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri-Amritsar, Amritsar-Saharsa-Amritsar, Amritsar-Gorakhpur-Amritsar, Jamutvi-Barmer-Jamutvi, Chandigarh-Amritsar-Chandigarh, New Delhi-Lohian Khas-New Delhi, Rishikesh-Katra-Rishikesh, Dehradun-Amritsar-Dehradun, Agra Cantt-Hoshiarpur-Agra Cantt, Calcutta-Amritsar-Calcutta, Sealdah-Jamutvi-Sealdah, Delhi Sarai Rohella-Pathankot-Delhi Sarai Rohella, Durg-Udhampur-Durg, Subedarganj-Udhampur-Subedarganj, Ludhiana-Chharta-Ludhiana, Jalandhar City-Ambala Cantt-Jalandhar City, Sealdah-Jammutvi-Sealdah, Delhi Sarai Rohella-Pathankot-Delhi Sarai Rohella, Durg-Udhampur-Durg, Subedarganj-Udhampur-Subedarganj, Ludhiana-Chharta-Ludhiana, Jalandhar City-Ambala Cantt-Jalandhar City, Ludhiana-Ambala Cantt-Ludhiana, Dhanbad-Jammutvi-Dhanbad and New Tinsukia-Amritsar-New Tinsukia will remain cancelled.
Short terminating trains:
New Delhi-Amritsar Express will be short terminated after Ludhiana station from January 2 to 8, Darbhanga-Jalandhar City Express will be short terminated after Ambala Cantt station on January 4 and Saharsa-Amritsar Express will be short terminated after Chandigarh station on January 5.
Short originating trains:
Amritsar-New Delhi Express will be returned from Ludhiana station from January 2 to 8, Jalandhar City-Darbhanga Express will be returned from Ambala Cantt station on January 5, Amritsar-Saharsa Express will be returned from Chandigarh station on January 6 and Ludhiana-Lohian Khas Passenger will be returned from Phillaur station from January 2 to 8.
Diverted routes:
Amritsar-Ajmer Express will be run from Jalandhar via Kapurthala-Ferozepur towards Bathinda on January 2 and 7 and will not go to Phagwara, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Moga, Talwandi Bhai stations.
Bikaner-Amritsar Express will run from Ferozepur Cantt via Lohiya towards Jalandhar on 2 January and will not go to Moga, Jagraon, Ludhiana stations. Amritsar-Bikaner Express will run from Jalandhar via Kapurthala to Ferozepur on 3 January.
Dhanbad-Firozpur Express will be taken from Ludhiana to Firozpur via Moga on 31 December and 6 January and will not go to Phillor, Noormahal, Nakodar, Malsian, Shahkot, Lohian Khas, Makhu stations. Similarly, Firozpur-Dhanbad Express will be taken from Firozpur directly to Ludhiana via Moga on 2 and 8 January and this train will go to Makhu, Lohian Nakodar, Phillor route. Apart from this, 37 trains will run with a delay of 35 to 290 minutes on different days or will be halted mid-way and sent to their destinations.
