A 47-year-old man named Omkar Tiwari on Sunday was arrested by Raipur Police after his video dragging a 16-year-old girl on road went viral on social media. Accused Omkar Tiwari dragged the wounded teenage girl by her hair on the road holding the knife in the other hand he had stabbed her with late on Saturday evening. After Raipur's teen girl video went viral and sparked a social media outrage Omkar Tiwari was arrested by the Police. The girl remains under a critical condition in State Government Hospital. Raipur's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prashant Agrawal was quoted by a newswire saying that the girl worked at Omkar Tiwari's grocery shop at the city's Gudhiyari area adding that Tiwari wanted to marry her, but she refused and quit her job. Some reports say there was a money dispute. On Saturday evening, Tiwari, allegedly drunk, barged into the girl's home and started shouting at the family. He allegedly attacked the girl with a knife and stabbed her in the neck. She tried to run away but Tiwari chased her and dragged her by her hair until she collapsed on the road. It is pertinent to mention here that witnesses called the police.
Now, a video is going viral, showing the Raipur Police parading the accused Omkar in the public. The viral video shows, Omkar holding his ears, while the Police parading him in the entire area. In fact, the Raipur Police shared the photo on their official Twitter handle saying that Omkar Tiwari has been arrested. In the photo, Tiwari can be seen folding his ear as a gesture of apologizing to the public.
