The WhatsApp Chats that were purportedly leaked on social media showed that Raj Kundra had already made ‘Plan B’ to keep his errands of creating and publishing porn on applications if his already blocked app ‘HotShots’ land in trouble.
According to the information released by the Mumbai Police, Mr. Kundra was already aware of the fact that he could be arrested by the cops so he had a word over this with his business partner Pradeep Bakshi, who is based in the UK, on WhatsApp group ‘H Accounts,’ which is now under surveillance of Crime Branch.
Apparently, Mumbai Police reached these chats while quizzing Mr. Kundra’s former personal assistant Umesh Kamat, who is also the representative of Kenrin Production House in India. Going by the chats, they had another app namely ‘Bollyfame’, which will be ready in 2-3 weeks, on which porn videos were to be streamed.
Read the chat here:
Kundra – It’s great that we prepared for Bollyfame
Kamat – Will come to the office and talk, we should remove all bold content till then
Kundra – I doubt they will remove ALTBalaji content.
Kamat – it’s not that serious. They will just ask to remove objectionable content
Pertinently, the key conspirator of pornographic content creation and publication, Raj Kundra believed that the future of such videos is ‘Live Content.’
At least four screenshots of WhatsApp chats were doing rounds on social media in which Kundra was allegedly discussing the ''Plan B'' with another member on ''H ACCOUNTS'' group, the sources said. Moreover, a member in the group shared a screenshot of the mail received from Google Play Store about the status of HotShots, to which Kundra replied, "...Plan B started max 2-3 weeks the new app will be live iOS and Android it''s a blessing."
Divulging the details of the chats, a member named as Rob Digital Marketing Hotshots asked Kundra, "until then, can we deactivate all the bold films and the Appeal again the Play store.”
A screenshot of chat of November 10 showed that a member told Kundra, "till BF (Bollyfame) is up let's find out a way to sustain HS (Hotshots)." The discussion further moved to the removal of “extremely bold content” from the platform for some time.
On October 11, members of ''H ACCOUNTS'' WhatsApp group discussed live revenue of Rs 1.85 lakh and movie sale of Rs 4.52 lakh, which was appreciated by Kundra and his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, who was also allegedly part of the racket.
However, due to its objectionable content, ''Hotshots'' was suspended by Google Play Store and Apple App Store last year.
Reiterating here, the Crime Branch Mumbai on Monday night had booked businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra for his alleged involvement in the creation and publication of porn films on apps. He is in police custody till July 23.
The Mumbai Police have booked the case under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
“There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We’ve arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this,” the Mumbai police commissioner said in a statement late Monday night.
