Raj Kundra was charged with sexual assault by Sherlyn Chopra in April 2021. He was charged with violating sections 376 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as sections 384, 415, 420, 504 and 506, 354 (a) (b) (d), 509 of the Indian Penal Code, 67, 67 (A) of the Information Technology Act 2008, and sec 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women Act 1986.
Sherlyn Chopra made a video statement about Raj Kundra's pornographic films case after Kundra's arrest. She said that she was the first person to reach the Maharashtra cyber cell and provide her statement.

At least 11 persons have been arrested in the investigation, including Raj Kundra, for their involvement in a case involving the creation of pornography.
IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (obscene and indecent advertisements and displays), as well as relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, were used to charge Kundra.
