Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan Government will release a total of 51 inmates from all over the state over their ideal behavior on Independence Day. The home department of the state announced in the official notification.
Among these prisoners, 36 have completed their 2/3rd of the jail term, another 5 above the age of 60 have completed their half of the jail term, and the remaining 10 include financially weak.
The inmates who are not in a stable state financially were unable to pay the amount entitled to pay after the release due to which they continued serving their jail term.

Notably as per the central government released guidelines only inmates charged under specific categories were eligible for release in between their jail terms. The list, however, doesn’t include inmates charged with dowry killings, rape, terrorist activities, and human trafficking, along with other significant high-profile charges.
The notice from the state’s home department was released publicly yesterday with CM Gehlot’s consent ordering the same.
