Superstar Rajnikanth has announced that he will not start his political party, putting an end to his most awaited political entry. On Tuesday, he tweeted saying that his recent health development has come as a warning from God and he will not go ahead with his plans to take the political plunge for the 2021 Tamil Nadu election.
This big announcement comes two days after his discharge from a hospital in Hyderabad where he was admitted on Friday following blood pressure fluctuation and was under observation for three days.
The actor released a statement which read: "With extreme sadness, I say that I can't enter politics. I alone know the pain I went through while announcing this decision."
Rajinikanth further said, "I see this as a warning given to me by the Lord. If I campaigned only through the media and social media after I started the party, I would not be able to create political upheaval among people and win big in the elections. No one with political experience will deny this reality."
He added that without entering electoral politics, he will continue to serve and support the people of Tamil Nadu. “This decision of mine will disappoint my fans and people but please forgive me," the actor's statement said.
Rajinikanth, who is 70 years old, has been suggested to take complete bed rest for one week to help avoid stress given his post-kidney transplant status, labile hypertension and age.

Rajinikanth had earlier stated that he will launch his political party in January 2021 ahead of the Tamil Nadu state assembly elections. However, he has now cancelled his plan ahead of the launch mentioning that he doesn’t want to begin something and then leave it halfway. He believes that his health doesn’t permit him to enter politics and at this point of health issue, he doesn’t want to start the party.
