Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal has become a blockbuster at the box office with fans around the world hailing Ranbir Kapoor for brilliant acting. Apart from a fresh storyline, Animal's background score and songs have played massive roles in the success of the movies. However, one song that stood out among the rest is Arjan Vailly. Sung by Bhupinder Babbal, Arjan Vailly's song is classic Punjabi folk originally made to highlight the valor of Arjan Singh Nalwa. Apart from Arjan Vailly, the movie Animal has a deep connection with Punjab and the Sikh community as Ranbir Kapoor seeks help from his Sikh brothers to help him win the war against Bobby Deol who plays the character of Abraar Haque. While the movie continues to rake in thousands of crores at the box office, it seems to be getting into legal trouble.
As per reports, a Sikh body named All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has written a letter to the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) or Censor Board expressing their protest against the movie Animal. the AISSF has demanded the removal of multiple scenes in the movie Animal which has deeply hurt the Sikhs' religious sentiments including the chartbuster Arjan Vailly song.
AISSF represented by its patron Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, and President Parminder Singh Dhingra in their letter have requested the Censor Board to cut the scenes as soon as possible. The scenes that the AISSF has pointed out include Ranbir Kapoor blowing smoke on the face of a Gursikh man while smoking. Apart from this, Ranbir Kapoor narrates Shabad from Kabir before using the customised machine gun against 300 people who intruded into his hotel to kill him. As per AISSF, the Shabad from Kabir has been distorted in the movie.
Furthermore, the Sikh body has pointed out that the song Arjan Vailly was filmed depicting an atmosphere of hooliganism. Notably, the Arjan Vailly song has been filmed on Ranbir Kapoor when he takes on more than 300 people alone with the help of an axe. Finally, the AISSF has pointed out the post-credit scene where Ranbir Kapoor places a butcher’s knife on the beard of a Gursikh man.
