Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is the most
anticipated film of the year. Before the release of the film, it has landed
into legal trouble. A United Arab Emirates (UAE) financier has approached the
Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai and filed a cheating case against the
makers of the film '83'.
A complaint has been filed against the makers
for cheating. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is one of the producers
of the film, has also been dragged into this controversial case. The names of
the film’s director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, among others, are
also included in the complaint.
The UAE financier stated that his company was
promised good returns by Vibri Media after they invested approximately Rs 16
crores. But, their funds were directed into multiple agreements with his
investment being used for the production of the movie without getting any
written consent from the complainant.
The case has been made under sections 405,
406, 415, 418, 420 and 120B of the IPC.
