Veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon on Monday got embroiled in a controversy after she liked a social media post trolling The Archies movie. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies movie was released on Netflix on December 7, 2023. The Archies movie was released with much hype as it marked the Bollywood debut of many star kids such as Suhana Khan (Shah Rukh Khan's daughter), Khushi Kapoor (Sridevi's daughter) and Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan's grandson). Although the trailer amped up fans' excitement, The Archies was subjected to criticism and social media trolling majorly due to acting skills. Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, and even Zoya Akhtar had to face social media trolling. Interestingly, many celebrities lauded The Archies movie but Raveena Tandon 'liked' a social media post with negative comments on the Zoya Akhtar-directorial movie.
As a result, Raveena Tandon The Archies post went viral in no time and fans started to laud the veteran Bollywood actress. However, there were people who slammed Raveena Tandon for liking The Acrhies trolling post and reminded her that her daughter Rasha Thadani may also become an actress in the future. After the furore, Raveena Tandon took to her social media handle and issued an apology.
Raveena Tandon in her social media post wrote, "Touch buttons and social media. A genuine mistake has been blown out of proportion. The like was made in error, and something that I was not even aware of that had been pressed by scrolling. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and hurt this may have caused."
However, later Raveena deleted her apology post on The Archies puzzling fans about what's going on with the Tip Tip Barsa fame actress. The Archies was released on Netflix on December 7, 2023.
