On 13th September, Berlin, a Hindi-language Spy thriller film got released on Zee5. This movie is written and directed by Atul Sabharwal. The film stars Aparshakti Khurana as Pushkin Verma, Ishwak Singh as Ashok, Rahul Bose as Sondhi (the intelligence officer), Anupriya Goenka and Kabir Bedi. This film is produced by Zee Studios and Yippie Ki Yay Motion Pictures.  The mysterious plot of Berlin has raised the curiosity level and viewers want to know whether the movie is based on a real-life story or if it is based on a novel or a book.

Is Berlin based on a true event?

The answer to this question is no. The spy thriller movie Berlin is not based on a real-life event. It is not based on a book or a novel as well. The plot of the movie majorly revolves around a deaf-mute young man who is accused of being a foreign spy. Although the movie is not based on a true story, the intricating and mysterious storyline of the movie has raised the excitement level of the audience.

The plot is set in the year 1993, when the Russian President was planning to visit India. A teacher who knows to communicate in sign language named Pushkin Verma played by Aparshakti Khurana is brought to help in the interrogation of a deaf-mute man named Ashok Kumar, who is played by Ishwak Singh. In the film, Ashok played by Ishwak Singh is presumed to be a foreign spy and a key man who can help India by revealing the Russian President’s assassination plot.

Berlin director Atul Sabharwal who is famous for his films such as Class of '83 and Aurangzeb, has once again made his mark in the industry. He has created this mysterious masterpiece where the audience gets engaged in the political thriller. Not only the lead actors of the movie but also supporting cast, including Kabir Bedi, Anupriya Goenka, Nitesh Pandey and Ujjwal Chopra have delivered justice to their roles even with their less screen timings.

The film was initially released at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles in the year 2023. On 13th September, the movie has released on Zee5, an OTT platform.
