Interestingly, the movie is getting released on the same day when the hijack was actually done. The real hijack was done on 25th October 1993, where a Nigerian Airways Airbus A310 flight from Lagos to Abuja was hijacked by 4 teenagers aged 16 and 18.

What had happened in the 1993 hijack?
On 25th October 1993, a Nigerian Airways Airbus A310 flight from Lagos to Abuja was carrying top government officials including Rong Yiren, the vice president of China, and Nigerian government officials. When the flight landed in Niamey for refuelling, 4 hijackers announced that the plane has been hijacked.
They demanded the Nigerian military-backed interim government to resign and name Moshood Abiola as the president. They threatened that they will set the flight on fire within 3 days, if their demands were not met. After 4 days, the hijackers got arrested and a crew member was killed in this process. The 4 hijackers spent 9 years, 4 months in the prison.
