Is Justice based on a true story?

The answer to this question is a partial yes. Justice is partially based on a true story. This movie might be inspired by one of the bank robberies happened in the Polish history, there’s no official confirmation about it. It revolves around a bank robbery where three employees and a security guard were shot by the robbers. But the film partially depicts the actual bank robbery that took place in Poland.

Th actual bank robbery was done by a group of six men on Sunday 19th August 1962. They robbed the local branch of the National Bank of Poland in Wołów, southwestern Poland. It was the biggest bank robbery in the history of the People's Republic of Poland.

These robbers were not seasoned criminals. The mastermind of this robbery was an electrician named Stanislaw J who had worked for the bank. All these robbers were sentenced to 25 years in jail, but they left prison after 17 years, in 1979. The police successfully recovered almost all the money stolen from the bank.

Previously, in 2008, Polish Radio Wrocław created a radio show where they narrated the story of the robbery and Polish TV Wroclaw filmed a documentary titled ‘Napad na bank’.
