The much-awaited spy-thriller HIT 2: The Second Case was finally released on Amazon Prime Video on January 6, 2023. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the Telugu spy-thriller HIT 2 has a star cast including Adivi Sesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Rao Ramesh, Bhanu Chandar, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani, Srinath Maganti, Komalee Prasad, and others in pivotal roles. To be precise, Adivi Sesh and Meenakshi Chaudharyare main characters of the story. For the unversed, HIT 2 is the second installment of the HIT franchise. The film was released on December 2 last year and emerged as a hit at the box office. The answer is no. HIT 2: The Second Case is not a true story, however, it is somewhat similar to the similar the infamous Shraddha Walkar murder case that has rocked India. HIT 2 trailer showcases the cops led by Adivi Sesh on the hunt for a killer who has chopped off a woman's body in multiple pieces which is what happened in the Shraddha Walkar murder case. However, the Shraddha Walkar murder case is still under investigation, so, it is unlikely that the makers of HIT 2 have made their story based on the horrific Mehrauli Murder Case.
Talking about the Telugu thriller, Sailesh Kolanu who directed as well as wrote the first part helmed the second installment as well. The film’s title is an acronym for 'Homicide Intervention Team'. Hit-2 was opened with rave reviews from critics & the audience alike and went on to become a commercial success at the box office in Telugu states. Actor Adivi Sesh of Goodachari (2018) and Evaru (2019) fame is playing the lead as Police officer Krishna Dev (KD), he has replaced actor Vishwak Sen who played police officer Vikram Rudraju in the first part. Sen said that he missed out on the sequel due to scheduling conflicts, and wished he would be part of HIT 3rd and 4th part. Model and actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, who represent the state of Haryana at the Femina Miss India 2018 pageant has been cast as the leading lady opposite Adivi Sesh.

Shraddha was brutally killed on May 18, 2022, after her live-in partner Aaftab strangled her, dismembered her body into 35 parts, and dumped it across multiple areas in New Delhi. During the polygraph test, the accused admitted the murder was pre-planned by him and expressed no regrets. On December 15, it was reported that the deceased Shraddha Walkar's dismembered bones that were retrieved from New Delhi's Mehrauli forest matched with her father Vikas Walkar and brother's samples. The development is similar to the confession of accused Aaftab Poonawalla that he made during his Narco and Polygraph test. The Delhi police in its briefing confirmed that the Polygraph test and DNA reports from CFSL were obtained.
