Punjab’s relentless efforts to fight the raging second wave of Covid-19 suffered a blow after four Doctors (MD medicine) have tendered their resignation from the Bathinda Civil Hospital.
It is learnt that all the four doctors were rendering their services at the forefront to contain the spread. From detecting to diagnosing covid19 patients in the district, the doctors have been on their toes helping the administration to control the transmission.
Though the doctors have citied personal issues and nothing related to covid19 as the reason behind resigning, sources at the Civil Hospital Bathinda said that poor covid management, shortage of oxygen and vaccine supply, are the major reasons why doctors have been feeling stressed up.
Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon Bathinda Dr Tejwant Singh Dhillon termed the development quite unfortunate and said as the state is reeling under severe covid crisis; the doctors must restrain themselves from taking such steps as it’s the time when their services are required the most.
