Late night in Dayalpur village of Kapurthala, some unknown people entered the house of a retired bank employee and murdered him. After receiving information about the incident, DSP Bhulath Bharat Bhushan and Subhanpur police station reached the spot, took the body into custody, and kept it in the mortuary of Civil Hospital Kapurthala for post-mortem.
Confirming this, DSP Bharat Bhushan Saini said that from the scene of the incident, it appears that the murder was committed by unknown people who had entered the house with the intention of stealing. At present investigation into the matter has been started.
According to the information received from the police, Balwant Singh lived alone in village Dayalpur for many years. His wife had passed away and he had retired from the Cooperative Bank a few years ago. His two children lived abroad. Late at night some unknown people entered his house and murdered him. DSP Bharat Bhushan Saini, who was present at the incident site, said that the deceased has been identified as Balwant Singh.
He also said that a preliminary investigation on the spot had revealed that unknown killers had entered the house with the intention of stealing. At present the body of the deceased has been taken into custody and the matter is being investigated.
