Member Parliament Sushil Kumar Rinku on Tuesday reviewed the progress of construction of the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road wherein he directed the officials to complete the entire work within a given timeline so that commuters do not face any problem at this road.
Interacting with the people, especially with shop-keepers in Adampur, the MP said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government is committed to the holistic development of this town. He mentioned that the Chief Minister himself kick-started the construction of this road last month at an outlay of Rs. 13.74 crore. He assured the residents the project would be completed in a time-bound manner as necessary directions have already been issued to the officials concerned. Mr. Rinku said that the state government had launched a slew of projects for Adampur Constituency last month and completion of each project was being monitored by the senior officials.
The MP said that the construction of Jalandhar-Adampur-Hoshiarpur Road was started by the government as a top-priority as it would facilitate people in a big way. He said that thousands of commuters use this road on a daily basis as it provides connectivity with Himachal Pradesh adding that after completion of the road at this stretch people would witness a smooth journey.
Meanwhile, the Member Parliament directed the officials to ensure the best quality of work for the construction of this road. He said any kind of compromise with the quality of this road would be highly unwarranted and day-to-day monitoring of this project was being done by the state government. He took valuable feedback from the shop-keepers running business on Jalandhar-Adampur-Hoshiarpur road and assured them the work would be completed as soon as possible. The residents thanked the state government for fast-tracking construction of this road as it would give a major relief to them.
The MP further stated that the construction of an incomplete flyover at Adampur would also resume shortly as the requisite approval in this regard has already been granted by the government. Now, the tender would be floated in a few days, following which the construction work of this flyover would begin. He asked the NHAI officials to complete tendering procedure at the earliest to start this pending flyover work.
