The Rohit Sharma vs Hardik Pandya debate does not seem to stop despite appeals from cricketers and commentators. While Mumbai Indians (MI) are finding it difficult to win match in IPL 2024, its newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya continues to receive hate both on social media and from fans on the ground. Now, reports suggest that Rohit Sharma is mulling to leave Mumbai Indians (MI) after the completion of IPL 2024. Yes! you heard it right.
As per a News 18 report, an MI player on the condition of anonymity informed that Rohit Sharma is not happy with Hardik Pandya's leadership style and they have been involved in arguments multiple times. The report further suggests that the dressing room environment of the Mumbai Indians is also not good. The players in the dressing room are divided between Pro Rohit and Pro Hardik. Notably, Rohit Sharma once stated that he always wanted to play for MI. However, MI's sudden leaning towards Hardik Pandya has puzzled the Indian Team captain. Not only this, but Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh had also commented in one of the posts of Mumbai Indians in which Head Coach Mark Boucher stated that MI decided to hand over captaincy keeping the future in mind. Ritika in her comment stated that she feels so wrong over this.
Therefore, if reports are to be true then Rohit Sharma will be entering the mega auction in the IPL 2024. If Rohit enters the auction then fans may see all the records getting shattered. All the teams would want to have him as a batter and skipper, who has won 5 IPL titles.
It is pertinent to mention here that neither Rohit Sharma nor the Mumbai Indians have confirmed or denied the reports.
Why fans are angry with Hardik Pandya?
There are three reasons for fans' anger. Gujarat Titans fans are angry at Hardik Pandya as he left the team and rejoined Mumbai Indians (MI). The Mumbai Indians (MI) fans are angry at Hardik for taking the captaincy role in the team when Rohit Sharma is already in the squad. The third reason is Hardik Pandya had to pull out from ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 due to a 'freak injury'.
