The revered player also holds the title of the leading goal scorer in the history of international football, having netted an impressive 122
goals in 200 games so far. Both these achievements have been marked in the Guinness Book of World Records. He also scored in the very 89th minute of the match against Iceland, giving his country Portugal a lead with the score of 1-0.
Everyone praised him for these records, including his sister Katia Aveiro, who highlighted his tough journey and conditions before making it big in the football world. In one paragraph, she wrote that their mother, Dolores, didn’t want to give birth to Cris and was considering an abortion. This was due to their adverse family conditions, as they didn’t have enough resources at the time to feed so many mouths. However, something stopped Dolores as she ultimately raised the baby who became a living legend 38 years later and went on to become the first footballer in history to earn more than $1 billion in his career.

Following Ronaldo’s birth, Katia revealed that her mother didn’t want the footballer to end up like his alcoholic father. In the Instagram post where she added a picture of Ronaldo, she wrote, “He got it into his head that he wasn’t going to be like the shadows. That he wouldn’t be like his father who surrendered to alcohol – and that’s why Cristiano never drank a drop of alcohol.” She also hailed her brother, saying that despite facing such unfortunate conditions, he managed to become the global phenomenon he is today. While praising his 200 games achievement, she wrote, “I’m just mortal. Me and you. Cristiano is something else. He will die like us, but then he will be sent to the garden of the immortals.” Indeed, it is quite a heartfelt message for Ronaldo.
