Veteran filmmaker & actor Rakesh Roshan in the docuseries revealed, "I remember my father had three brothers and they were contractors by profession. I don't know how he got this urge to be a music director. He moved to Lucknow from Gujranwala. He learned to play sarod from Allahuddin Khan Sahab. Then he moved to Delhi and joined All India Radio, where he met my mother. She used to sing for All India Radio. They got married. And, I think in 1948, they moved to Bombay."
"He did not have a place to stay in Bombay. There were music directors called Husnlal-Bhagatram back then. They had two garages. That's where I was born in 1949. His first film was Kidar Sharma's Neki-Badi," added Rakesh Roshan.
Notably, Roshan Lal Nagrath's first song 'Dear But Why' and the music project flopped. As a result, Roshan decided to leave Bombay (now Mumbai) and go back.
Rakesh Roshan revealed, "My mom was packing when Mr. Kidar Sharma came home. He asked, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'I am going back, I don't like it here'. He said, 'No, I am signing for another movie, Bawre Nain and you are not going anywhere'"
