In one of the shocking move by the IPL committee, India's ace fast bowler, S Sreesanth was not included in the list of 292 players list. On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) – released a list of 292 cricketers who will go under the hammer at the IPL 2021 Player Auction, which will be held in Chennai on February 18. However, the BCCI scrapped the name of the controversial fast bowler from the list.
Sreesanth had registered himself for the auction and kept his base price of Rs 75 lakh. In 2013, BCCI banned Sreesanth for life due to his name in spot-fixing. However, the Supreme Court later abolished the life ban. But now, from the stand of IPL management, it seems that it is not going to be easy for Sreesanth to come back.
“A total of 1114 players had registered for the auction, of which the franchises shortlisted the candidates and the list was pruned. Maybe, Sreesanth did not attract the franchises for some reason,” an unnamed franchise official was quoted as saying by Sportstar on Thursday.
Now, Sreesanth has finally responded and the cricketer took the scrapping of his name in a positive manner. Sreesanth took to Instagram and shared his video. In his video, Sree said, "Before people get into any conclusion, I just wanna say I am absolutely fine and I am grateful for this lovely life. I just wanna thank all the support you have been showing (fans). Honestly, I thought I should have been there but it's ok it's all good. I have to work really really hard. If I could wait 8 years I would love to wait some more time. I am not giving up, I am just 38. So I am gonna make sure that I work hard. "
