The Sabarmati Report is an upcoming Hindi language drama thriller film. It is written by Avinash and Arjun. It is direction by Ranjan Chandel, who was later replaced by Dheeraj Sarna. The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films Production. It stars Vikrant Massey as Samar Kumar, Raashii Khanna as Amrita Gill and Riddhi Dogra as Manika Rajpurohit.
The storyline of the movie revolves around the Godhra train burning incident of 27th February 2002, that involved the Sabarmati Express train. The film has got released on 15th November 2024 in theatres.
Initially the film was scheduled to release on 3rd May 2024, following which it later got pushed to 2nd August 2024 due to the censor issues. Finally, the movie got released on 15th November 2024.
The Sabarmati Report is based on Gujarat’s Godhra train burning incident when 69 Hindus were burnt alive. The Godhra incident sparked a state-wide riot in which people from two religions lost their lives.

The Sabarmati report has released on 15th November in theatres. Following its theatrical run, it will soon get released on OTT platform. This drama thriller movie is distributed by ZEE Studios and so that it is expected to get released on ZEE5. However, the exact release date and OTT platform has not been announced yet.
During the trailer launch of the movie, Vikrant revealed that he had got multiple threats due to his involvement in this project as it is related to the Godhra train burning incident.
Talking about the title of the movie in a podcast, Vikrant Massey said, “It has been 22 years and you also know that there were multiple narratives at that time. No one knew what actually happened. When I brought the story or script to my home, I discussed it with my family. I have my children; my friends have children. They don't know what happened on 27th February, they only know about the riots. But, no one talked about the genesis, the 69 people only turned into statistics. Now, the Supreme Court has already given a judge on this. No one is above the Supreme Court in this country, the controversy has settled down and this is why we named the movie The Sabarmati Report.”
