In a massive development in the world of badminton, India's ace shuttle star Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy have tested positive for coronavirus. Saina Nehwal is in Thailand for the Yonex Thailand Open, and according to reports, will withdraw from the tournament.
As per BWF, four specimens were re-tested and three of them - one from India and the Germany and Egypt players - tested negative. All those three players will be tested again on Tuesday.
The one Indian player (unnamed), who tested positive even in the retest is in a Bangkok hospital in isolation for at least 10 days. The player will be re-tested and has been withdrawn from the tournament.
This is the second time that Saina has tested positive for the virus. Earlier, in December, after attending a wedding, Saina and Parupalli Kashyap had tested positive.
