Television actor Sakshi Tanwar-starrer Mai was released on April 15 on Netflix. The show has received mixed response from viewers on Twitter.
Story track: The series is the story of a mother Sheel Chaudhary played by Sakshi Tanwar, a middle-class woman, who witnesses her daughter’s accident. Her daughter Supriya is being hit by a truck. Soon after the accident, she discovers that it isn’t as simple as it is presented. She tries to find the truth behind the whole matter.
Sakshi Tanwar, in an author-backed role, seems to be delivering her chops at two levels. She oscillates from a docile, lost to the world woman in agony to a determined mother who would move heaven and earth to find her daughter's murderer. Her piercing cry is heart-wrenching and has the intensity of a wounded lioness' roar who has lost her cub.
The series shows a close connection between Medical mafia and money laundering. It seems to be based on a real-life story. In the series, the medical mafia can be seen how they are running illegal business and trying to convert their black money into white. The honest policeman tries their best to end this nexus but somehow fails.

The link of Medical mafia and Money laundering is not a new thing. Few years back, a doctor in Jalandhar was caught. He was running a small clinic but it was found that he did transactions of worth crores. The case was suppressed later on due to the involvement of big names in the case.
