Sam Manekshaw’s biopic starring Vicky Kaushal has been hitting headlines since the announcement of the lead actor. The movie had been in buzz after Vicky Kaushal’s look as the Field Marshal of India was shared on social media. On Saturday morning, the film’s official title ‘Sam Bahadur’ was announced by Vicky Kaushal on his Instagram handle. The makers choose ‘the war man’ Sam Manekshaw’s birth anniversary to make the announcement. Lead actor Vicky Kaushal posted a video announcement for the same in the voice of veteran lyricist, Gulzar.
Taking to his Instagram handle he wrote, “the man. The legend. The brave heart. Our Samबहादुर…on the birth anniversary of field Marshal #SamManekshaw, his story has found its name. #SamBahadur”. The movie is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Earlier, when Vicky Kaushal released his look on social media for the movie he expressed his gratitude on been given this opportunity to play the brave man of the nation.

The video announcement shared by Vicky has the voice of Gulzar explaining about Sam Manekshaw and different names people used for him. He then informs that this story of his honorable life will be called by the name “Sam Bahadur”.
Sam Manekshaw’s career spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted as the Field Marshal. He was also a part of India's victory in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. The first look for his biopic was released in 2019 on his death anniversary.
