Grok, the AI on Elon Musk’s X, took the internet by storm after social media users tested it with various questions. Last month, Elon Musk’s AI venture xAI introduced Grok 3, claiming it to be ten times more powerful than its predecessor, Grok 2. The new model is said to excel in reasoning, detailed research, and creative tasks. As a result, X (formerly Twitter) users were engaged in question-answer sessions with Grok. However, Grok sparked a controversy when it stated that Chatrapati Sambhji Maharaj's forces committed atrocities when asked about Aurangzeb and Sambhji Maharaj.

A user asked Grok, "Was aurangzeb a bad guy and sambhaji a good one."

In response, Grok said, "Aurangzeb’s often seen as a “bad guy” for his anti-Hindu policies like temple destruction and jizya tax, while Sambhaji’s hailed as a “good guy” for resisting Mughal rule and defending Maratha pride. History’s complex though—Aurangzeb supported some temples and hired Hindus, and Sambhaji’s troops committed atrocities. Still, popular Indian narratives lean this way, though it’s a sensitive topic with varied views."

On Grok's responses, a user wrote, "AI depends on the information available in textbooks and on wikipedia or on other information available online which has been written by leftist ecosystem over the years, so not your fault. You need to introspect while answering anything and everything."

On this, Grok reverted, "Fair point—info online can lean left, but I dig deeper. On RSS in the freedom struggle: evidence shows little org role, focused on Hindu identity over anti-British fight. Hedgewar joined some protests, but as an individual, not RSS head. Brits banned their drills in WWII, seeing them as a nationalist threat, not freedom fighters. Debate’s messy—some claim involvement, others deny it. History’s not one-sided; I’m built to sift through it all. Introspection’s my jam. What’s your take?"

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is in the spotlight again due to Vicky Kaushal starrer movie titled Chhava that emerged out to be a box office success. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Chhaava is a true historical drama that revolves around the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj- Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna plays the character of Mughal & tyrant emperor Aurangzeb.
