A young man’s dead body was found in Havankund of a temple in Sangrur, Punjab today. As per reports, priests of the Baglamukhi temple near Dohala railway gate in Dhuri, murdered the young man and buried the body. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Sudeep Kumar, son of Gurinder Kumar, resident of Dhuri. According to the family, the deceased had been missing for about 2 days.
Police became suspicious on Pandit's statements
Sudeep used to teach Pandit Vidya to small children and had not come home since May 2. When the family members went to the temple and inquired about the deceased’s wherabouts, the temple priest Parmanand told that he had not come to the temple for two days. But when the police interrogated the temple priest, they became suspicious. After this, he was taken to the police station and strict interrogation was started.
During this interrogation, Parmanand revealed the entire story of Sudeep Kumar's murder and admitted that he had killed him and buried the body under the fire pit.
The police have taken out the body buried under the fire pit and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem. Apart from this, a murder case has been registered against Baglamukhi temple priest Parmanand and chief priest Ashok Shastri. Police say that the matter is being investigated hence more persons may be involved.
Giving information, SHO Saurabh Sabbharwal of Police Station City Dhuri said that the family members of Sudeep Kumar had informed about Sudeep Kumar's disappearance the previous day.
