The CBI probing the Saradha chit fund case under the directive from the Supreme Court wanted to know the details of funding and expenditures of the Jago Bangla, the Bengali daily of the TMC.
Mr. Chatterjee's name came up during the questioning of TMC Rajya Sabha leader Derek O Brien, who is also the publisher of Jago Bangla, on August 9 last.
Meanwhile, the Central investigating agency, which is also probing the Rose Valley scam, had summoned the former city police commissioner Rajeev Kumar to appear today. However, a CID official arrived at the CGO complex and delivered a letter on behalf of Rajeev Kumar, who sought more time to appear in the case.
