The Supreme Court on Wednesday has asked the Ex-Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh to go to the high court on corruption allegations against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The top court refused to entertain Singh’s plea seeking CBI investigation against the state minister and asked him to approach the High Court in the matter.
Singh had filed a petition seeking a CBI probe against Deshmukh for allegedly running a 'money collection scheme' through the police department. In his petition, he demanded that his transfer to a low-key post in Maharashtra Police’s Home Guards be halted.
Singh was removed from his police commissioner post in connection with the Ambani bomb scare probe and the arrest of police officer Sachin Vaze. He claimed that he was transferred from his position 'immediately' after he blamed the state home minister of corruption in front of Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and some other senior leaders.
A two-judge bench, comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and R Subhash Reddy, passed the judgment.

Days after Param Bir Singh was transferred from his post, the top cop had written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and accused that Anil Deshmukh had met his subordinates, including arrested cop Sachin Vaze, in mid-February and asked them to collect Rs 100 crore monthly, including Rs 50 to Rs 60 crore from bars and hotels in Mumbai.
Deshmukh, however, has denied the allegations and has threatened to sue the cop for defamation.
