A heart-wrenching video is doing rounds on various social media handles from Delhi where a girl trapped under a car was dragged for four kilometers by the driver. The 20-year-old girl was so mercilessly dragged that all her clothes were torn and she died a very painful death. Police have initiated an investigation regarding the matter and the accused have been arrested.
The whole incident was captured on the CCTV installed nearby. The footage clearly shows that a Baleno car was moving on the road when they collided with a scooter-riding girl. The vehicles collided and the victim got trapped under the car. Instead of getting out and helping her, the accused increased the speed of their vehicle and dragged the girl for about 4 km. On being dragged, all her clothes got torn, she got serious bruises on her whole body, especially her back. Both her legs got fractured and she died.
The deceased has been identified as Rekha, a resident of Aman Vihar. She has a mother, 2 brothers and four sisters in her family. Reportedly, she worked in an event management company and during this accident was returning from a New Year celebration.
An eyewitness of whole incident revealed that he saw the accident and girl being dragged for so long. He also followed the car till Begumpua where he then informed the police about the same. Family of have deceased have demanded justice from Delhi Police. They have stated that this is like another Nirbhaya incident.
DCP Harendra Singh, police official looking into the matter stated that car’s number was identified from the CCTV footage after which all the accused have been arrested. During interrogation it was revealed that there was an accident with a scooty in Sultanpur area. In this, the girl kept getting dragged along with the car. Medical test is being done to ascertain whether the accused were intoxicated or not.
