Scuffle breaks out at Singhu border between farmers and locals: Stones pelted, tents damaged, Alipur SHO attacked from sword

Locals say that due to the farmer protest, their businesses are coming to a standstill.

In the middle of the farmer's protest, there has been a ruckus on the Singhu border. Around 1 pm in the afternoon, people who came from Narela reached the protest site and started shouting slogans demanding the farmers to clear the border. 

Locals say that due to the farmer protest, their businesses are coming to a standstill. Around 1.45 pm, the locals reached the farmers' tents and broke the essential items of farmers. After this, there was a clash between the farmers and the people. Stones were also pelted from both sides. 

The police tried to intervene, but seeing the situation deteriorating, police baton-charged and released tear gas shells. Many people have suffered injuries in this clash. Some policemen have also suffered serious injuries. The SHO of Alipur police station has also been attacked with a sword.

Earlier, the leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, Satnam Singh Pannu said that 'the central government is disturbing the atmosphere at the farmers' dharna by sending RSS people. Yesterday (Thursday) they did this twice. But, we will not go back till the farm laws not be retracted.'
