SEA and India Vice President of Google quits to join Sequoia Capital

Google South East Asia and India Vice President Rajan Anandan will leave the firm by the end of this month. Vikas Agnihotri who is the country director, sales of Google will be replacing Anandan for the meantime for Google India.

Anandan has been with Google for about eight years now. Before working with Google, Anandan was the Managing Director at Microsoft India from September 2008 till August 2010. Previously, he also worked with Dell India as the Vice President and Country General Manager.

Google Asia Pacific President Scott Beaumont in a statement said, “We are grateful to Rajan for his huge contribution to Google over the past eight years. His entrepreneurial zeal and leadership has helped grow the overall internet ecosystem in India and Southeast Asia, and we wish him all the best in his new adventures.”

As per reports, Anandan will be joining Sequoia Capital as Managing Director. Sequoia Capital is an American venture capital firm. Sequoia Shailendra J Singh in a post warmly welcomed Anand to his company said, “We are thrilled to welcome Rajan Anandan to Sequoia Capital India as a Managing Director. He will join the leadership team at the firm, in addition to the six current Managing Directors, where he will focus on developing Surge into the world top scale-up program for startups by acting as an investment advisor and mentor to the program founders.”
