Alan Ritchson-starrer Reacher Season 3 has recently surpassed the records and has become Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched returning season. Season 3 reportedly collected 54.3 million views within the first 19 days of the release.

The series has gained immense popularity for its gripping action, suspenseful storytelling, and the intensity of the performance by the actors.

However, people are just curious to know whether the series is based on a true story or is a fictional story. The short answer to this is no, as this series is inspired by the Jack Reacher novels, which were written by British author Lee Child. The story revolves around an ex-military investigator who roams around the nation to solve crimes.

Lee Child gave birth to a character named Jack Reacher in his first-ever novel - Killing Floor. The debut novel was published in the year 1997 and, due to its attention-grabbing storyline, is now known to be one the most successful thriller novels of modern literature.

The book features a former US Military Major who started living a life of solitude after leaving his services. He doesn’t have any permanent residence and travels from town to town. Notably, the story grabs public interest when the former Major gets involved in conflicts with criminals because of his sharp instincts, military background, and no-nonsense attitude.

From a novel to a thriller series -

Jack Reacher’s journey from page to screen was interesting and more faithful than many Hollywood films. In the first season of The Reacher, the main character of the series gets falsely accused of murder, and then he uncovers a deeper conspiracy as he wants to clear his name.

The previous first two seasons, Jack Reacher, released in 2012, and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, released in 2016, of the film featured Tom Cruise as Reacher, but audiences were unhappy with the portrayal as they believed that Cruise did not match the need of the character. However, Alan Ritchson as Reacher has garnered praise.
