A second blast occurred in the vicinity of the Golden Temple in Amritsar in just two days. Police have confirmed that the blast occurred in the parking lot located about 800 meters away from the Golden Temple on Heritage Street at around 6:30 am on Monday.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
The police have closed a one-way road from BR Ambedkar's statue to Maharaja Ranjit Singh's statue square in the aftermath of the blasts. Additionally, suspicious items were found at the scene of the Saturday night blast, indicating that the explosion was not caused by a chimney blast, as previously believed.
This is the second blast to occur in the same area in just 32 hours. The first blast occurred on Saturday night, injuring six people. Police believe that both blasts were caused by crude bombs, planted in a cold drink tin, and were of low density. Investigators have not yet found any detonator at the scene of either blast.

While informing media DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav stated, "Two incidents took place in Amritsar, one on Saturday and another on Monday. Preliminary investigations show that they were low-intensity explosions. We are conducting a scientific investigation, and a forensic team has been called to look into it. We have not found any detonator or explosive material, and we cannot determine how it was placed there. This suggests that it was a crude type of device. We are investigating all angles, and people involved in the preliminary investigation state that it is too early to say if it was someone's mischief, but we want to rule out that possibility.
