Is the character of Ram Charan Pandey of Sector 36 based on real life?
The answer is no. Sub Inspector Ram Charan Pandey's character played by actor Deepak Dobriyal is fictional but the events shown in the movie is totally real. Notably, the makers have used fiction to dramatise the movie. Simranjeet Kaur was the chowki in charge at Nithari. She came on CBI's radar fer her "unusual proximity" to Moninder Pandher. While Pandher had other cops on the take, Kaur was the one who initially hushed up the probe into the disappearance of Payal, a 20-year-old who used to visit the businessman.
A 2009 report suggests that Simarjeet Kaur was reinstated into the force. In 2009, she was now posted in Noida. The police department had ordered her transfer to Lucknow.

In Prem Singh's village, Pandey found a CD in which Bassi was already filmed committing the crime. However, while he was on his way back, Ram Charan Pandey was murdered.
